From toolkits to a system of record: introducing the ISO Assist platform

For seven years ISO Assist sold document toolkits: 170-odd templates for ISO 27001, then ISO 9001, with 45001 and 14001 on the way. They were good. Thousands of organisations used them to get certified faster and for far less than a consultant-led programme.

They also had a ceiling. A folder of documents is where a management system starts. It is not where it lives. Between audits, the system lived in someone's spreadsheet, a shared drive and a calendar reminder nobody actioned. Surveillance audits found the same things every year.

What changed

We built the thing our customers kept asking for after the toolkit: a system of record for the whole management system. Deterministic first, audit-grade by default, hosted in Australia, priced at one flat annual rate per plan rather than by revenue, headcount or number of standards.

What it is

• Requirements as rows. Adopt a standard and every clause, control or requirement appears with an owner, a status and the evidence behind it. Five standards on the shared Annex SL spine; the Essential Eight at the ACSC's own 152-requirement resolution.
• Evidence with a cadence. Upload, link from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, or generate from a register. One item can satisfy requirements in several standards, mapped once.
• The system's own records. Actions and corrective actions, internal audits, management reviews, incidents, hazards, inspections, training, access reviews, vendors. Modules that talk to each other, so the records exist because the work happened.
• Audit-grade output. Statement of Applicability, gap report, dossier, maturity report: frozen, hashed snapshots. Time-boxed read-only access for your auditor.
• AI that drafts, reviews and explains. Six labelled boundaries, every output validated before it becomes a record, every call logged with its cost. It never sets a status.
• MSP and consultant mode. Every client on one screen, hard isolation between them.

What happened to the toolkits

They are in the platform: more than 400 templates, on every plan, opening in an editor that adapts them to your organisation profile and lands them in document control with a version and an approver. They are no longer sold separately, and there is no per-standard charge.
